Our Town

UVa Drama

This production of Thornton Wilder's classic, staged in a thrust, was focused on the heart of

the human condition, and was dedicated to showcasing all the good, the bad, and the

embarrassing that comes with being human. The sound score featured a subtle, background soundscape of naturalistic sounds and recorded singing to transport the audience to this small town in New Hampshire.

The bobwhite calls on a peaceful night in town.

The chirps of crickets and croaks of tree frogs create a natural musical score as three mothers

walk home to their families.

The choir sings a hymn in the distance.

The rain patters while the church bells ring, a fitting underscore for a funeral.
